Bourgeois Creek Fire, British Columbia

Weather Received rainfall last night. Operations: The wildfire is displaying mostly rank 1 and 2 fire behaviour on the east/northeast side of the fire. Growth has been minimal and primarily on the east/northeast flank, away from values and infrastructure. For nore information on the wildfire rank, go here. On the eastern flank the wildfire is running into a wildfire from 2018, which is decreasing fire behaviour and slowing the rate of spread in these areas. Ground crews and heavy equipment have been working direct, creating guards on the southern flank working towards the east. A guard has been established between the free burning edge of the fire and values. Structure protection personnel have triaged values and established structure protection on identified assets. Helicopters continue to assist operations with bucketing water to slow the spread of the fire and cool hot spots. Additional aviation resources will support as required to meet operational objectives. Public Safety: The Cariboo Regional District has rescinded the Evacuation Alert for this wildfire.
