This Privacy Policy explains what information Earth Signals collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, maps, accounts, alerts, and related services (the “Service”). • Account details such as email address, display name, and password (if you create an account).
• Subscription and billing details processed by our payment providers (we typically do not store full payment card numbers).
• Alert preferences (areas of interest, channels, thresholds) when you configure notifications.
• Messages you send us (for example support email) and any content you submit to community features.

Information collected automatically

• Device and browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, and referring URLs.
• Usage events such as map interactions, feature usage, and performance diagnostics.
• Cookies and similar technologies used for session, preferences, security, and analytics.

Information from third parties

• Hazard and environmental datasets from government and other providers (generally not personal data).
• Payment processor confirmations and anti-fraud signals if you subscribe.

3. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without human involvement beyond ordinary service delivery (for example sending an alert you configured).

Earth Signals is operated from Canada. Your information may be processed in Canada and in other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

• Update alert preferences or close your account where account tools are available.
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those messages (transactional and alert messages may still be sent when needed to provide the Service).
• Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to withdraw consent.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
